SIZE MATTERS - ON SHOW IN NOOSA LIBRARY

Our travelling exhibition of minaiture works in paper is currently showing at the Noosa Library. The exhibition fits very nicely into two large glass cabinets in the new library foyer and can be seen from inside and outside.

This is one of the busiest libraries in Queensland and a number of community centre buildings are located nearby so the show will have a lot of exposure.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to Size Matters. The work will be packed up at the end of this month and will be returned to members at the Christmas party or via mail in December.

POQ RETREAT- BALI 2010

Our hostess Lynne Fellowes doesnt quite look like this YET, but she assures us Bali can make you look and feel years younger

We are planning on staying at a resort in Ibud and having a wonderful week, guided by POQ member Lynne Fellowes, who lives in Bali. Di and I are also hoping Ruth Hadlow might come over from East Timor.

Here's the preliminary plan:

POQ Art House retreat - 14th-22nd June 2010

Take a creative journey to Bali, the Island of the Gods. Immerse yourself in the culture, delight your senses and invigorate your soul.

Art House invites fellow artists to join us on a week’s art retreat of paper possibilities. We will combine breath-taking scenic day trips with workshops, papermaking & textile visits, cultural sites, nature walks and more. Photographic opportunities abound.

You will experience the warmth & hospitality of the Balinese people, sample local cuisine, explore the cultural & artistic centres of Ubud and Mas, meet local artists, visit the mountains & take time for relaxation and pampering. The offerings, the ceremonies, daily cultural events all add to the color and spectacle of this beautiful island.

At the Art House Studio (Rumah Seni) we will work and play on a journey of discovery with a focus on paper, fibre & artist books. A delicious lunch provided.

Accommodation at Cendana Resort & Spa are modern, Balinese style villas set amidst tranquil rice fields. Facilities include a restaurant, swimming pools & spa

Trained staff available for massages, facials, manicure & pedicure

Single, double, std, superior or deluxe rooms to choose from, with breakfast included

www.cendanaresort-spa.com

Cost is $US790.00 based on 8 nights shared standard accommodation, upgrades optional

Transfers to and from the airport, plus transport for workshops & excursions.Unless stated, meals are not included

The cost does not include flights, airport tax, alcohol/beverages, or meals not specified, tips or gratuities, insurance. We reserve the right to make adjustments if there are major fluctuations in the $US and recommend you take out travel insurance to cover sickness, cancellation, etc

We will be looking for a package deal on flights.
